To rescue Siegward, start at the Profaned Capital bonfire and look for a blue peaked roof on a house in the swamp. Look from this roof to the stairs to spot an open window you can leap to. This leads to Siegward's cell.

Step 4: In Irithyll Dungeon, Siegward will be locked up in a cell. You do not need to talk to him to free him, but if you wish to do so make your way to a pit full of rats and a sleeping giant standing in the pit. There is a dungeon cell window, where you can find Siegward locked up.

Trapped in the Cathedral of the Deep

After encountering Unbreakable Patches in the Cathedral of the Deep, the player can encounter Siegward stuck in a well in the Cathedral of the Deep, right outside of the Cleansing Chapel bonfire.

Once you've opened the main doors at the Cathedral of the Deep you can go back to the Cleansing Chapel bonfire and look into the well beside the front doors of the chapel. You should get a dialogue prompt, and, low and behold, Siegward has got himself stuck in the well without any armour on.

Let the sun shine upon this Lord of Cinder. Not only does this imply that Siegward and Yhorm were once great friends, but that also means he had to witness as Yhorm descended into madness after becoming a Lord of Cinder.
